Polish ski jumper won another event in World Cup. During the ceremony… there was no Polish anthem!

Kamil Stoch won the ski jumping World Cup competition in Titisee-Neustadt. The second was Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud, and the third was Piotr Żyła (Poland). For the twentieth time in history, two Poles stood on the podium of the World Cup competition. During the ceremony, however, there was a scandalous situation. The organizers did not play the Polish anthem!

The national anthem is always played for the winner of the competition. On Saturday, however, it was missing.

There are two possibilities. Either it was a lousy organization or bad will. Germany is famous for its good organization. They organize most World Cup competitions alongside Austria. After each contest, the anthem of the winner of the competition is played.

Consequently, it should not surprise the organizers that an anthem will be played. Recently, not only Kamil Stoch, but Poles are regularly winning. The calculus of probability was such that this Polish anthem would be played. Therefore it was probably a bad will. This is a scandal, what happened yesterday, and the public should react strongly - said MEP Ryszard Czarnecki.
