Lithuania joined the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund


 Lithuania joined the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF) and pledged to invest EUR 20 million. 

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis noted that the coronavirus pandemic and its aftermath had highlighted the growing importance of regional cooperation and the need for well-developed infrastructure. - "That is why it is very important to deepen the political and economic cooperation of the Three Seas Initiative countries, to strive for economic recovery in the region and the EU after the Covid-19 pandemic."

The Three Seas Fund's goal is to improve road, rail, energy, and digital infrastructure, both within the member states and in the region.

Nine countries have already joined 3SIIF: Poland with a share of EUR 550 million, Romania - EUR 200 million, Slovenia - 23 million, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Croatia - EUR 20 million each.
