US Secretary of State: Completion of Nord Stream 2 is a fait accompli

 Completion of Nord Stream 2 is a fait accompli, said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, defending the decision to waive certain sanctions. He said Washington would react if Moscow tried to use the gas supplies as a weapon.

A State Department report sent to the U.S. Congress stated that 'Nord Stream 2 AG' - the company behind the gas pipeline construction - and its CEO Matthias Warnig, a good friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, have engaged in sanctioned activities. But, we waived these sanctions because it is in the national interest of the United States.
