Poland: Family of ruling party members not to sit on supervisory boards of state-owned companies

During a convention of Law and Justice (PiS), Poland's ruling party, on Saturday, the delegates adopted a resolution that prohibits spouses, children, siblings, and parents of PiS deputies and senators from sitting on the supervisory boards of state-owned companies.

"Spouses, children, siblings, and parents of PiS MPs and senators will not be allowed to be members of supervisory boards of State Treasury companies," reads the resolution.

"Incidents of nepotism cast a shadow on our entire formation and undermine its credibility," it continued.

"Our goal is to create the Polish model of the wealthy state and to achieve the welfare and quality of life for the inhabitants of our country at the level enjoyed by the citizens of the wealthiest European countries."
