"The consequence of the recent aggressive actions of the Israeli government is an increase in hatred of Poland and Poles in this country. Among these reasons, I made the decision to safely transport our ambassador's children to Poland. Poland never leaves her diplomats in need," he wrote.
This comes after Polish President Andrzej Duda approved on Saturday a law that will restrict the possibility of restitution claims for property stolen from Jews by the Nazis during World War II and nationalized by the postwar communist regime.
The head of the Polish government in his post on social media indicates that the lack of appropriate regulations to date has led to the creation of a re-privatization mafia in Poland.
"Wild re-privatization has led to many human tragedies in Poland. Tens of thousands of people have been thrown out of their homes where they lived all their lives - only because our law has a provision allowing for an indefinite return of real estate" - writes the prime minister.
"We stopped it by passing a law that restores elementary justice and the rule of law in Poland. Under the new regulations, anyone who lost their property has the right to claim compensation - but they cannot demand that other people be deprived of a roof over their heads" - adds Morawiecki.
Two questions come to mind.
First. In light of what the PM said, why the current Israeli government was so determined to stop this new law?
Second. It rarely happens that the ambassador's family is threatened in the host country. And if it does it almost never happens in a democratic country. So which country is "run by the thugs" (Joe Biden) now?!
