Opposition parties want to change the Constitution to make an iron guarantee that Poland will remain in the EU

Civic Platform leader, former President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, announced that the coalition of opposition parties decided to submit a draft amendment to the constitution. The change aims to create "an iron guarantee that Poland will remain in the EU as long as Poles want it."

The task of changing the constitution is to introduce an iron guarantee that only by referendum or by a majority of 2/3 votes in the Sejm and Senate would be possible to decide on Poland's withdrawal from the EU - said the PO leader Donald Tusk, presenting the draft amendments to the constitution by KO.

Unfortunately, this move by the opposition parties weakens Poland's position at the negotiation table in all of the EU's issues against Poland and its conservative government. And that most likely is the point.
