Belarusian border guards were throwing "whatever they could" at the Poles

Summing up Saturday on the Polish-Belarusian border, a spokeswoman for the Border Guard, Lt. Michalska, estimated that it was not a quiet day for Polish officers, especially in the vicinity of Mielnik, in the Podlasie voivodeship, where around 8:00 pm "Belarusian troops started throwing stones and tree limbs towards Polish border patrols."

- During this attack, a group of eighteen foreigners began to split the fence, to tear metal posts from the fence. The group crossed the borderline, but all were stopped and turned back to the border. No one was injured during this attack - said the spokeswoman.

Citizens of Iraq, Egypt, and Syria were part of the attack, and some of them tried to cross the border for a second time, she explained.

On Saturday, more cases of destruction of the concertina fence by Belarusian soldiers were reported.

"We saw Belarusian soldiers cutting a concertina in these sections, when were approached, they moved away deep into Belarus" - said Lt. Michalska. - "Belarusian services fired many times from flares towards the territory of Poland".
