Another Russian general killed in Ukraine


 The Armed Forces of Ukraine said they have killed Russian Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev in the last 24 hours. The information was provided by the Ukrainian general staff via Facebook on Saturday.

Mordvichev was the commander-in-chief of the 8th Army. His death was a result of shelling in the Kherson region.

"As a result of the fire on the enemy by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commander of the 8th All-Military Army of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev, has fallen," - we read on Facebook of the Ukrainian land forces. - "As will any other freak who decides to enter our land."

According to the "Ukrainian Center for Counteracting Disinformation", at least nine Russian officers from the highest command of the armed forces have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the war: 

  • Major General Magomed Tushayev,
  • Major General Vitaly Gerasimov,
  • Major General Andriy Kolesnikov,
  • Major General Andrei Suchowiecki,
  • Colonel Andriy Zakharov,
  • Colonel Serhiy Porochnia,
  • Colonel Igor Nikolaev,
  • Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Agarkov,
  • Colonel Mykhailo Sofronov.
