Poland celebrates Constitution Day. Ukrainian PM: "Rights and freedoms are a treasure ..."

Today Poland celebrates the National Holiday of May 3rd Constitution (231st anniversary). On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Szmyhal, extended special wishes to the Poles:

"Rights and freedoms are a great treasure of humanity; today our countries and societies are on the same side in the fight for world democracy."

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote:

"231 years ago, the resolution of the Grand Seym establishing the Constitution was adopted. The first in Europe and the second in the world, after the American [Constitution], so modern and revolutionary as at the time, a systemic document, which turned out to be unacceptable to our absolutist, anti-democratic neighbors, the later invaders - Prussia, Russia and Austria. Anyway, the Polish Constitution was even further than the one from overseas, because excluded (forbade) slavery."
