Morawiecki in France. The PM has a proposal for Macron

During his visit to Paris, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki proposed to freeze ETS prices (the EU greenhouse gas emission allowance trading system) at EUR 30 for two years.

- I want to propose to France that the ETS system, which works better or worse in normal times, should be rebuilt. We know the cost of energy supplies. We are dealing with crazy prices, said Morawiecki during a joint statement with Emmanuel Macron. - That is why I want to propose that the ETS prices should be frozen at EUR 30 for two years. This would give taxpayers in Europe a breath, added the Prime Minister.

He pointed out that President Macron "thinks of Europe as a continent of a great future." - I think of it as a young continent full of new technologies, but Europe has fallen into a geopolitical slumber and someone is furnishing this world for us - said the head of the Polish government.

Referring to the situation in Ukraine, Morawiecki said that "today we are not dealing with the end of the war, not even the beginning of the end. Therefore, our response must be patient, balanced, but firm".
