President Andrzej Duda is in Egypt, where he will take part in the UN climate summit (COP27). The Polish leader will address issues related to energy security, environmental protection, and just transition.
The Polish president's visit to Egypt will last until Tuesday. On Monday, the president will take part in the opening ceremony as well as in the round table discussion. According to President's official website, the Polish leader will also talk about the climate impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
On Tuesday, the Polish leader will deliver a speech at the COP27 plenary session. Andrzej Duda will raise issues related to energy security, security of supply, care for environmental protection, and energy efficiency. President's climate advisor, Paweł Sałek, announced that in the president's speech "there will also be information related to the Ukrainian thread."
The President will also take part in the round table "Water Security" and in the high-level discussion "Promoting Climate Change Education."
The schedule of the visit also includes bilateral meetings - incl. with Equinor ASA President Anders Opedal, Kenya President William Ruto, and Microsoft Corporation President Brad Smith.
