Cyberattack alert from Poland: Russian operation Ghostwriter intensified after Russian Influence law has passed

Niezalezna(.)pl: "Ghostwriter" is operation conducted by the cybersecurity forces of countries hostile to NATO, primarily Belarus and the Russian Federation. A group of secret services officers or persons dependent on them - code-named "Ghostwriter" means activities that have been carried out against NATO countries since 2016. The term "Ghostwriter" was used by Mandiant, a company specializing in cybersecurity issues, in relation to this operation. The perpetrators stole data that allowed them to place false, disinformation content on the attacked websites.

Shortly after the broadcast of the documentary TV series, "Reset", Russia's assets are at work. The documentary tries to explain why certain events in Polish politics took place, events that clearly bebefited Russia, both politically and economically.

– The very fact that several dozen hours after the broadcast of the first episode of the series, we are dealing with the launch of assets that are clearly attributed to the Russian intelligence services, clearly shows that the case is of interest to the institutions of the Russian Federation - Michał Rachoń, host of TV show 'Jedziemy,' referred to the content distributed in social media attributed to Sławomir Cenckiewicz, creator of 'Reset.' 

He pointed out that this is the next installment of the Ghostwriter operation, which has been going on for a long time, which is manifested in Poland by, among others, an attack on Michał Dworczyk's mailbox and a controlled leak of it's content.

- Over the years, Ghostwriter operators attacked many entities in Poland, including the website of the portals, and Also, the attack on the e-mail address of Michał Dworczyk, the former head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, was part of the Ghostwriter operation, aimed at the Polish state - pointed out Michał Rachoń.

#ghostwriter operators also attacked many entities which have been consistently following and disclosing Russian interests and operations in Poland.
