Poland will provide the EC with written information on the commission for Russian influence

On Thursday, we will provide the European Commission with written information about the act regarding the appointment of a commission for examining Russian influence, showing that the act does not pose the risks mentioned by the EC - announced Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

Just yesterday, the minister spoke with EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders about what happened in the European Parliament. "In my opinion, this reaction is disproportionate and hasty," emphasized Szynkowski vel Sęk.

On Wednesday evening, the European Parliament held a debate on the Polish law establishing a special commission to investigate Russia's influence. EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said, among other things, that this law "raises serious concerns as to its compatibility with EU law because, as we understand it, it gives the administrative body significant powers that could be used to deprive individuals of public functions, and thus could limit their rights."

Szynkowski vel Sęk said such "opinions should be based on facts."

"And in this case, I have the impression that they are based rather on disinformation spread by opposition parties," - he added.
