Poland: World's first levitating train on existing infrastructure!

Nevomo is a Polish (now international) company that has developed a unique technology for a MagRail system - a passive magnetic levitation train operating on existing railway tracks at speeds up to 550 kph (340 mph). This hybrid solution allows for the functionality of both the MagRail system and conventional trains on the same tracks.

Their idea is to upgrade existing railway infrastructure at a competitive cost. MagRail can be subsequently transformed into a vacuum version called the hyperloop.

Two days ago, Nevomo announced MagRail's successful tests on Europe's longest track for testing passive magnetic levitation in Nowa Sarzyna, Poland. Watch this YouTube video to see this extraordinary rail system where the MagRail levitates (you can see wheels float 3/4 of an inch over the track) existing tracks and discover how Nevomo may revolutionize railroad transportation!

I have been watching this project from the beginning and hope that the results will soon be implemented. Even more so since Poland is in the middle of rebuilding its rail network with a new international (for the entire Eastern Europe) airport in the middle.
