Energetyka24(.)com: Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (Polish Nuclear Power Plants) obtained a decision to determine the location of a nuclear power plant in Pomerania. It will be built in Pomerania, in the Choczewo commune, in the "Lubiatowo-Kopalino" location. This decision is one of the most essential administrative consents necessary to start construction.
The decision to determine the location of the investment, issued by the Pomeranian Voivode, concerns the construction and operation of the first nuclear power plant in Poland, with three AP1000 Westinghouse reactors with a total capacity of 3,750 MWe, in the Choczewo commune in the "Lubiatowo-Kopalino" location.
Polish Nuclear Power Plants also signed an agreement to design the power plant (Engineering Services Contract) with a consortium of American companies Westinghouse-Bechtel.
Thanks to the decision to determine the location, Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe received the right to use the area for preparatory work and construction of the facility, as well as the subsequent operation of the nuclear power plant. The decision specifies in detail, among others, the territorial scope of the investment, both on land and at sea, and also specifies the investment implementation conditions, including technical, environmental, conservation, and fire protection conditions.
The decision to determine the location is not equivalent to a building permit. After obtaining the location decision, the investor must obtain a permit to perform preparatory work.
