Many people complain about double standards of American Justice. We observe the same problem in Poland and the similarities are stunning.
A former politician, Janusz Palikot, was charged with eight counts of causing unfavorable disposal of the property of several thousand people for the amount of nearly PLN 70 million ($18M). The former Civic Platform MP is in custody, but he will be able to be released after paying bail. At the same time, Fr. Michał Olszewski and two clerks, where, despite the fact that no one was cheated or robbed, are under arrest for over half a year.
In fact, the prosecutors don't seem to know what the charges should be.
On October 22, the National Prosecutor's Office has planned to change and supplement the charges against the priest. This is to happen just 2 days before the hearing of the Court of Appeal in Warsaw, which will decide on the arrest. This is a desperate attempt to influence the decision of the court regarding the defense's appeals!
The planned “supplement” is intended to do just one thing, to ensure that the clergyman tormented by the investigators remains in custody.
