If the presidential elections are to be held, we must have an electoral commission that respects the law - emphasizes Prof. Ryszard Piotrowski. The constitutionalist suggests that this body should be disbanded by the President.
At Monday's meeting, the National Electoral Commission adopted a resolution to postpone the decision on subsidies for the Law and Justice party (PiS) "until the case of the so-called neo-judges forming the Extraordinary Control Chamber" of the Supreme Court is resolved. It was supported by 5 out of 9 committee members.
Extraordinary Control Chamber is a judicial body that will certify the results of presidential elections.
This may mean that the judgment of this chamber could be challenged if the Civic Platform candidate did not win the elections.
