I hope that some American soldiers withdrawn from Germany will go to Poland, it will strengthen NATO's eastern flank, talks are underway, the result will be publicly announced in the near future - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

On Friday, "Der Spiegel" informed that US President Donald Trump plans to withdraw this autumn from Germany 5,000 to 15,000 thousand American troops. About plans to withdraw 9.5 thousand earlier wrote Reuters and The Wall Street Journal. Morawiecki was asked on the RMF FM radio about reports that part of the American contingent from Germany would be sent to Poland.
"I deeply hope that as a result of many conversations we have had and by showing how a solid partner we are within NATO, that some of these soldiers stationed today in Germany and withdrawn by the United States will actually go to Poland. This will strengthen the eastern flank of NATO," - said Morawiecki.
He noted that the decision to send soldiers to Poland is obviously on the side of the United States and President Trump. But we hope that this contingent in Poland will grow all the time - he added.
"The talks are ongoing ... , the result will be made public in some time, we will provide this information in due time, but it will be a strengthening for the entire NATO" - said the prime minister.
