The peak of pandemic infection was in the entire European Union except for Poland

The first wave of coronavirus infection has passed the summit in all EU countries except Poland and Sweden, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

The latest ECDC report, which covers the period from December 31 to June 9, indicates that in European countries, thanks to restrictions, infection levels have been reduced by 80% compared to the peak of the pandemic. In EU countries and Great Britain the peak fell on April 9.

However, the situation is not the same everywhere, and in two countries the number of cases and cases in a 14-day perspective is still growing. "The initial wave of infections passed the peak in all countries except Poland and Sweden," reads the Covid-19 risk assessment update for the EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom.
