(Friday, July 31,2020) Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Friday's online conversation at the Atlantic Council think tank assured that Poland plays an important role in connecting the United States and the European Union. He also said that the Polish authorities wanted to minimize the epidemic threat while taking care of the economy.

Speaking about transatlantic relations, the PM said that "we all see that we are on the brink of a new era and we must strengthen our relations". Poland, while being "very pro-European" and "very pro-American" at the same time, is "extremely important" in bringing the EU and US together, he added.

According to Morawiecki, Warsaw can help overcome divisions by “translating European fears and expectations and observations into American language and vice versa.”

"We have hundreds of American entrepreneurs entering Poland, doing business in Poland, but also treating it as a gateway to the EU, a market of 450 million people"
