Poland: from December 28 to January 17, a national quarantine

"Appeals alone are not enough, that's why from December 28 to January 17 we are introducing a national quarantine; we are closing hotels, also for business traffic and ski slopes" - announced on Thursday Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski.

"We are also closing hotels for business traffic. These exceptions will be really limited to a minimum, especially in the context of what we have observed in recent days, when invitations for business holidays during holidays and winter breaks could be found on the Internet" - he pointed out.

"We are closing galleries (malls), with exception to stores that provide the satisfaction of basic needs, i.e. grocery stores or drugstores" - minister added.

"Unfortunately, it is possible that even more difficult days and weeks are ahead of us, because it is difficult to count that the vaccinations we count on so much will protect us in the near future, because even assuming optimistically that we will start vaccinating this year, the effect of population vaccination will definitely not appear in January and February" - he said.
