Robert Lewandowski - as the first Pole in history - was chosen the Footballer of the Year in the FIFA poll. The captain of the Polish National Team and a Bayern Munich player in the final overtook Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He is also the third most successful player on the Champions League list of all time.
