Are "little green men" from Belarus trying to get to Lithuania?

The Lithuanian interior minister asked the prosecutor's office to investigate the smuggling of groups of illegal immigrants from Belarus. Due to the growing problem, special services are on high alert. Lithuanian intelligence warns against the risk of terrorists and people recruited by the Belarusian regime entering the country. The number of people who have entered Lithuania from Belarus irregularly so far this year (some 160) has more than tripled compared to all of 2020.

It is estimated that there are about 1.5 thousand illegal migrants in Minsk who arrive in the Belarusian capital daily on direct flights from Baghdad and Istanbul. Their goal is to get to the EU.
