Orlen wants to build hydrogen hubs in Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia

Under the HYDROGEN EAGLE project, the Orlen Group plans to build a network of hydrogen hubs with renewable energy sources and installations converting municipal waste into hydrogen in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The project also includes over 100 refueling stations for individual, public, and cargo transport.

According to the concern, the program assumes the construction of six new hydrogen hubs, including three in Poland, two in the Czech Republic, and one in Slovakia, which renewable energy sources will power. The project foresees the building of electrolysis installations supplied with electricity from wind farms in the Baltic Sea. In total, the target capacity of the electrolysis installations will be approximately 250 MW.

"Thanks to bold, innovative investments, the Orlen Group has a chance to become the Central European leader in hydrogen fuels," - said the president of PKN Orlen, Daniel Obajtek.
