Poland to invest $54.5 billion in road and rail infrastructure


 PLN 200 billion ($54.5B) of investments throughout the country concerning road and rail infrastructure - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced during the meeting at the construction site of the high-speed rail section of the Solidarity Transport Hub Poland (STH). The STH, a central transport hub between Warsaw and Łódź, will integrate air, rail, and road transport, enabling travel between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in less than 2.5 hours.

The development envisages the construction of Solidarity Airport located 37 km (23 miles)west of Warsaw and covering the space of 11.5 square miles. During the first stage, the airport will handle 45 million passengers a year.

The PM said that railways require imagination and are related to the implementation of the overall economic plan. According to Morawiecki, the architecture of railway connections throughout Poland will be completely rebuilt as part of the plan. "We have so much to fix, so much to improve, so much to invest," he said.
