Ukraine holds military drills with US, Poland, and Lithuania

Military exercises, Three Swords, of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade have started in Yavoriv near Lviv. Americans are also participating in the "Three Swords 2021" maneuvers.

The multinational exercises with 1,200 troops and 200 vehicles will occur at the International Center for Peace and Security Operations in Yavoriv until July 31. Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine will be represented. Observers from the US armed forces are also participating.

It is the first time the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade (LITPOLUKRBRIG) exercises take place on the Ukrainian territory.

These are the second international maneuvers in Ukraine in the last month. "Sea Breeze 2021" exercises were held in the Black Sea and southern Ukraine at the turn of June and July. Ukraine and US maneuvers involved around 5,000 military personnel from 17 NATO countries and 13 Alliance partners, 32 ships,40 aircraft, and 18 special forces units. Russia sent "almost all ships of the Black Sea Fleet" to the Black Sea during the exercise.
