Sasin, in an interview published on Monday, stressed, that as a result of the tightening of the EU climate policy, Poland is "facing the challenge of costly reconstruction of the power industry."
In his opinion, "it is worth for Poles to be aware of what affects their electricity bills". "For example, it will be a good idea if energy companies put the cost structure on their bills - so that everyone can see what they are paying for. As much as 59 percent of the energy price is the cost of CO2 emission allowances, another 8 percent - the cost of obligations resulting from the EU climate policy. Thus, as much as two-thirds of the electricity price is the EU burden. The margin and tax are only 2 percent," - said the deputy prime minister.
According to the minister, "Brussels needs a pragmatic, not ideological approach." "The fact that the costs of green transformation are borne by citizens is a huge mistake of the EU technocrats, who do not understand that transformation without social acceptance will never be carried out. We as the government understand it. Unfortunately, the Brussels elites close their eyes to it" - emphasized Sasin.
