US Congress approves sale to Poland of 250 Abrams tanks

The head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that Poland had received permission to purchase American Abrams tanks.

Poland will spend $6 billion on the purchase of American tanks. The Department of State issued preliminary approval on February 18. Now the US Congress has also approved the sale of 250 Abrams tanks to Poland. This is a key decision that paves the way for the transaction and re-arming the Polish Army with American tanks. Minister Mariusz Błaszczak admitted that it was the most important defense contract in years.
