Poland finished building an actual border wall, now is time to install electronics

Work on the physical barrier on the Polish-Belarusian border has been completed. The reason for starting the construction in the form of a five-meter (16 ft) steel fence topped with barbed wire was the migration pressure caused by the actions of Alyaksandr Lukashenka's regime. Now, work will begin on another element of security, an electronic barrier.

The construction of the physical barrier, which will be built on 187 km of the Podlasie section of the Polish-Belarusian border, began on January 25. The spans were erected for about 170 km. The Border Guard receives the next sections of the barrier on an ongoing basis. On those already received, the construction of an electronic barrier has also started, which will secure the border for 202 kilometers. According to the formation, the first poles for the installation of cameras have already been erected. The electronic barrier is to be activated in successive sections. Works on it are to be completed 60 days after the completion of the construction of the physical barrier. The formation will spend the next 30 days calibrating all systems. As the Border Guard emphasizes, it is the largest construction investment in the history of the formation.
