Polish parliament is working on recognizing Russia as a state sponsoring terrorism

Two draft resolutions - by the Left and Law and Justice - on recognizing the Russian Federation as a state sponsoring terrorism were submitted for the first reading in the parliamentary foreign affairs committee. On November 25, the Seym received a draft resolution of the Left's deputies "on recognizing the Russian Federation as a state sponsoring terrorism." Today (29th), PiS deputies submitted a draft resolution "regarding the recognition of the Russian Federation as a state sponsoring terrorism." Also today, both draft resolutions were submitted to the first reading in the foreign affairs committee.

Both resolutions have similar resolutions that say that the Seym of the Republic of Poland recognizes the Russian Federation as a state that sponsors terrorism and uses terrorist measures. It welcomes the adoption by the European Parliament of a resolution on the same matter and expects the other EU institutions and Member States to take all necessary steps to implement the resolution.

Last Wednesday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine. 494 MEPs supported the adoption of the document recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. 58 MEPs voted against the resolution, and 44 abstained.
