Construction of an electronic wall on the border with Russia in the last phase

The eleventh out of twelve trailers of the electronic barrier have been placed on the border with Russia. Almost all (95%) camera posts already stand at the border. The network of detection and transmission cables has been laid down, said the spokeswoman for the Border Guard, Lieutenant Anna Michalska.

The construction of an electronic security system on the border with the Königsberg region began in April. This system of cameras and motion sensors will operate for approximately 199 kilometers. It will be divided into twelve sections.

1,900 posts with cameras are already installed out of the 2,000 planned. The cameras are being tested. The border will be secured by 3,000 day-night and thermal imaging cameras.

The entire electronic system on the border with Russia will be ready by the end of September. It is being built by the Polish company Telbud, with which the Border Guard signed a contract in December last year.
