Poland filed complaints with the CJEU against the Fit for 55 program

Dorzeczy(.)pl: Poland has filed two more legal complaints to the CJEU against the radical EU "Fit for 55" program. In total, Warsaw has so far filed four complaints.

The European Union adopts further elements of the "Fit for 55" package, which in order to "fight for the climate" provides, among others, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union by 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.

Sectors of economy already affected by the scheme are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 62% by 2030 compared to the level in 2005.

The Ministry of Climate and Environment indicated that the implementation of the Fit for 55 will lead to energy poverty in Poland.

Therefore, the Polish Ministry of Climate is trying to block the implementation of individual directives in the EU.

So far, Warsaw has filed four complaints with the CJEU against the provisions that are part of the Fit for 55 package. The complaints concern: the ban on registration of combustion vehicles after 2035, the increase of the EU greenhouse gas emission reduction target, the reduction in the number of free ETS available on the market and interference in the forest  management of EU member countries.
