Polish Energy Group plans to move away from coal by 2030

Niezalezna(.)pl/Energetyka24(.)com: - Moving away from coal by 2030 and zero emissions by 2040 - these are elements of Polish Energy Group's (PGE) ambitious strategy. In the years 2024 - 2030, the group intends to allocate PLN 125 billion for investments focused on decarbonisation and electrification.

As PGE's president Wojciech Dąbrowski informed at a press conference, the updated strategy assumes achieving zero emissions by 2040 by moving away from gas in favor of i.a. hydrogen and other clean sources of electricity.

In 2040, the management of PGE's networks is to be 100 percent. in real time through digitization. The new connection capacity to PGE's distribution network is to amount to 1,000 MW, the company announced.
