August 15 - the anniversary of the victorious battle in the 1920 war with Soviet Russia, was announced as a Polish Army holiday in 1923 and remained so until 1947.
From 1992, August 15 again became the Polish Armed Forces Day.
Mateusz Morawiecki addressed Polish soldiers on the occasion: Thank you for your dedicated service to Poland. You are top-class professionals; we feel safe thanks to you.
Also today, President Andrzej Duda laid a wreath in front of the monument to Marshal Józef Piłsudski at the Belweder Palace in Warsaw.
