Niezalezna(.)pl: "You have made a caricature of the rule of law," PiS MEP Ryszard Legutko said today in the European Parliament in Strasbourg during a debate with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The politician referred to her speech on the state of the European Union.
"When I compare you and the previous one, I see that we are heading towards an oligarchy. We are forgetting what is written in the treaties. The EC (European Commission) is entering a stage where it is becoming a machine that begins to interfere at the level of national policies. You yourself threatened voters in Italy." - said Legutko.
"We should finally stop playing with the legal basis (of the EU)," – emphasized Professor Legutko and once again appealed to von der Leyen to disclose all information regarding her negotiations of contracts for the purchase of vaccines against Covid-19, including text messages with the presidents of pharmaceutical companies.
"I think that such disclosure would be the right step to show that you are a law-abiding person," said the politician.
"Is the European Union in better shape now than, say, 20 years ago? The answer is: definitely not," – concluded Legutko.
