TVN station wanted to broadcast the funeral of a 14-year-old girl on a paid basis

Niezalezna(.)pl: Today, the funeral of 14-year-old Natalia took place at the cemetery in Andrychów. On November 28, the police began a search for the girl, who was eventually found 500 meters from the police station. Taken to the hospital, she died despite emergency operations. Her tragic story shocked all of Poland, and the TVN owned by Discovery, which makes it a CNN sister station, decided to broadcast the burial ceremony on a paid platform.

The station's decision was met with strong criticism from Internet users. Commentators point out that the whole story is a huge drama for the family, and trying to make money from it is simply disgusting. The station decided to respond to the criticism. However, it did not withdraw its decision, but apologized for the "unfortunate announcement."

"From the very beginning, as the editorial office, we have been deeply moved by Natalia's story. (...) Behind these decisions is our common concern that Natalia's story will never be repeated. So that - shocked by this tragedy - we will be able to respond in the future, systematically and humanely, to the harm done to other people. The message announcing the broadcast of the funeral was unfortunate, for which we apologize, " says the post on the X.
