Speaker of the Sejm will not implement the decision of the Constitutional Tribunal

The Sejm received a copy of the Constitutional Tribunal's decision regarding the application for the State Tribunal for the President of the National Bank of Poland. The letter states that according to the Constitution, neither the Marshal (equivalent of Speaker of the House) nor the Sejm has the right to deal with or do anything related to Adam Glapiński.

– We have carried out very intensive legal analyzes and I want to state emphatically that the Constitutional Tribunal of Julia Przyłębska, when issuing this decision, clearly exceeded its competences – said the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, adding that the application will be further processed.

The Constitutional Tribunal decided that the president of the NBP can be brought before the Tribunal by a resolution of the Sejm adopted by at least a 3/5 majority of votes (276 votes; the Sejm majority consists of 248 deputies). In the opinion of the Constitutional Tribunal, the Sejm cannot consider applications for the State Tribunal for the President of the NBP until changes in the law are made.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the Constitutional Tribunal's verdict is not binding. "We have different legal interpretations (of the law)."

PN: Sooner or later, Donald Tusk and his "coalition" will find "different legal interpretations" of the constitution, allowing them to end the term of Andrzej Duda as the president of Poland. And the European Union will be more than happy to support them.
