At 7:00, voting in the local elections began, in which nearly 47,000 people will be elected. Over 28 million Poles are entitled to vote. Until voting ends at 9:00 pm.
In Warsaw, voters are being issued defectively printed ballots, which make it impossible to vote correctly for two parties. The election officials claim that it is a technical issue. But, this "technical" malfunction affects only the largest opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS), and unaffiliated politicians.
Incidentally, the PiS candidates were most likely to win in the largest Polish city, which has voted for liberal politicians for the last two or three election cycles. But the current President of Warsaw has angered voters by not keeping his promises and, according to some critics, is unwilling to do any work. He has set his sights on running in national presidential elections.
