On Saturday, the US House of Representatives passed an aid package for Ukraine worth almost $61 billion. The vote means unblocking the deadlock in the House that has been ongoing for months and paves the way for a quick resumption of support for Ukraine.
There is growing belief in Poland that the meeting in March between President Andrzej Duda and Speaker Mike Johnson was crucial for a decision to vote on the bill.
"It was a very important meeting, because when I watched Mike Johnson's press conference, he presented many of the arguments that he heard from President Duda just a month ago," - said presidential Chief of Staff Marcin Mastalerek.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, assessed that "President Duda's conversation with Donald Trump brought a positive result."
In other words, it seems that after private meeting with President Duda, Donald Trump, GOP leader did not oppose the vote on Ukrainian aid.
