The Sejm violated the constitution, "the law does not allow starving judges"

By taking away the salaries of Constitutional Tribunal judges and failing to provide money for raises for Supreme Court judges and allowances for members of the National Council of the Judiciary, parliamentarians probably violated the constitution - writes Daily Law Gazette (Dziennik Gazeta Prawna - DGP).

"DGP" refers to Article 178, section 2 of the Constitution, which states that "judges are provided with working conditions and remuneration commensurate with the dignity of the office and the scope of their duties."

As the newspaper emphasizes, how much judges of courts and tribunals should earn is determined by individual laws. In turn, the Act on the National Council of the Judiciary indicates that members of this body are entitled to a per diem allowance for work.

"Meanwhile, the Sejm, without prior changes to these statutory regulations, wants to deprive Supreme Court judges of salary increases, want to deprive members of the National Council of the Judiciary of their allowances, and to deprive judges of the Constitutional Tribunal of their salaries altogether," we read in the text.

PN: The leader of the governing coalition, PM Donald Tusku, calls it a "Fighting Democracy, " most likely because it has nothing to do with Democracy. Let us remind you that Donald Tusk was a leader of the EU. He should know better. Or he knows the truth about the EU, and now we know it, too.
