The Warsaw Uprising of August 1, 1944 is one of the most important events in modern Polish history.

The Warsaw Uprising was a heroic and tragic 63-day struggle to liberate World War II Warsaw from Nazi/German occupation. Undertaken by the Home Army (Armia Krajowa, AK), the Polish resistance, it was a part of a nationwide uprising, Operation Tempest, and lasted until October 2.

The Warsaw Uprising was probably the largest single operation organized and executed by a partisan organization in WWII. It lasted two months, and when it was over, 200,000 people were dead, and the entire city was in ruins. In trying to achieve its goals, the uprising was a terrible failure. It was a remarkable success in showing the Polish nation's courage and dedication. Largely sidelined in history books and often confused with the Ghetto Uprising of 1943, the 1944 Warsaw Rising was a pivotal moment both in the outcome of the Second World War and the origins of the Cold War.

The uprising failed due to global politics played by Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. It was intended to last only a few days until the Soviet Army reached the city. The Soviet advance stopped short, however, on the other bank of the Vistula River. Stalin condemned the uprising as a criminal adventure (even though Russian radio broadcasts called for an uprising) and refused to cooperate.

The Battle for Warsaw

Initially, the German garrison of about 20,000 ill-equipped soldiers was outnumbered by AK fighters. However, out of more than 30,000 men & women, less than 3,000 were properly armed. Many only had pistols or antique hunting rifles, and many were armed with knives or swords! On the first day of fighting, over 2,000 Poles were lost, while only 500 Germans were killed. When Hitler heard of the Uprising, he ordered Himmler (head of the SS) to wipe Warsaw off the face of the earth. Thousands of heavily armed German reinforcements were rushed into Warsaw. By mid-September German troops were reinforced up to 50,000 men under SS general Erich von dem Bach. German tanks & Stukas (dive bombers) leveled entire blocks of the city at a time.

In 63 days of savage fighting and brutal reprisals, the most memorable was the Wola massacre, which took place in the first days of the uprising. On August 5th, German forces, notably subunits of the Sicherheitspolizei security police and notorious force of amnestied criminals SS-Sturmbrigade Dirlewanger, rounded up and indiscriminately executed many of the people in the Wola district, including the elderly, women and children, as well as the insurgents taken prisoner. Mass executions in the district also included the mass murders of patients and personnel of the local hospitals, some of them burned alive. By August 8, some 40,000 civilians had been killed, though some estimates cite numbers as high as 100,000.

Hitler, Himmler, and the Warsaw Uprising

Polish losses amounted to 18,000 soldiers killed and 25,000 wounded. German casualties totaled over 17,000 soldiers killed and over 9,000 wounded. From Warsaw’s civilian population, approximately 550,000 were sent to a concentration camp at Pruszkow, and another 150,000 were used as slave labor while over 200,000 died.

Following the surrender of Polish forces on October 2, German troops systematically burned the city block by block. 93% of the city became uninhabitable and featureless of landmarks. By January 1945, when the Soviets finally entered the city, Warsaw had practically ceased to exist.

There is proof that the death of the Polish President was an assassination

On Monday, the chairman of the Smolensk subcommittee presented new facts regarding the disaster of April 10, 2010. According to the report the presence of explosives on parts of the plane was confirmed by readings from detectors. 

The MP Antoni Macierewicz says the explosives used are marked as p-MNT. - This is a fundamental marker that was recognized in 1990 by a world organization and all companies producing explosives must take this marker into account - he said during a press conference.

The information about detected presence of explosives was not included in Russian protocol.

"I want to say right away that there is no doubt that the identification of over 30 fragments destroyed by explosions, from the cockpit to the stabilizer and both wings, proves that the explosion destroyed the plane while it was still above the ground. Therefore there is no doubt that we were dealing with an assassination."

The information presented by the subcommittee shows that explosives were hidden in places inaccessible to passengers. The explosives could only be placed there during plane's repairs performed by the company owned by a friend of Mr. Vladimir Putin. There repairs there were approved by politicians in current government. 

Apparently there is media blackout around today's conference. Maybe because from the beginning the Western media were pushing Russian conclusions that Polish pilots were ... drunk.

 On August 1st, all Poles will celebrate another anniversary of the greatest sacrifice young Poles made in 1944, fitting the enemy who intended to destroy the whole city before the Polish and Soviet armies arrived to liberate it. Former city council will run a major arms corporation

Renata Gruszczyńska, a councilor in the city of Kielce, has become the president of a large arms company, Mesko. Previously, she managed a regional municipal services company, which has nothing to do with the arms industry.

Illegally arrested politician released

Marcin Romanowski, an MP from Sovereign Poland, who was detained in connection with the investigation into the Justice Fund, was released just before midnight on Tuesday by the decision of the District Court for Warsaw-Mokotów. The reason is the immunity as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

On Tuesday, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, in response to a complaint by Romanowski's defense attorney, Bartosz Lewandowski, sent a letter to the Speaker of the Sejm in which he confirmed the validity of Romanowski's PACE immunity and called for the proceedings to be suspended until it was repealed.

"In connection with my illegal detention, together with attorney Bartosz Lewandowski, we will send a notice to the prosecutor's office," - Romanowski announced on social media.

His attorney already informed yesterday that his client intends to report the possibility of crime being committed. 

One of the leading politicians from governing coalition accidently revealed that the arrest was made based on the wishes of the politicians and not the prosecutors.

Stacja MSNBC wstrzymała w poniedziałek emisję programu „Morning Joe” ze względu na obawy związane z możliwymi niewłaściwymi komentarzami po sobotniej próbie zamachu na byłego prezydenta Donalda Trumpa. 

MSNBC skupia się teraz na najświeższych wiadomościach na temat strzelaniny na wiecu Trumpa w Pensylwanii, podało CNN, dodając, że „Morning Joe” powróci na antenę we wtorek.

OOPS, the "most democratic government ever" broke the law again, this time INTERNATIONAL LAW

 Today, at around 2 p.m. local time (8 a.m. EST), the agents from Agency of Internal Security (ABW) entered the apartment of MP Marcin Romanowski. The politician was detained in order to be transported to the National Prosecutor's Office. He lost his immunity by parliamentary vote last week. However the authorities were so eager to arrest him in front of TV cameras, they just happened to be there (LOL), that nobody checked the his legal status. Mr. Romanowski enjoys a second immunity resulting from membership in the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since 23 January 2024, he won the elections. 

His attorney, Bartosz Lewandowski, pointed out that "the moment the handcuffs were put on" the politician "a gross violation of the law and violation of international law occurred". He also demanded the removal of prosecutors from the case, whose impartiality seems "questionable".

The politician was detained in order to be transported to the National Prosecutor's Office. Investigators want to charge him with 11 violations in connection with alleged irregularities around the Justice Fund. That's the same case in which the "most democratic government ever" allowed a priest to be physically and psychologically tortured (see a posts from last week).

"In this respect, the MP has immunity and also benefits from the privilege of personal inviolability. In the event of a desire to bring him to criminal liability, arrest and temporary detention, the Prosecutor's Office was obliged to apply to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to lift his immunity in an appropriate procedure. This is confirmed even by the official website of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which probably no one has read" - wrote MP's lawyer.

"This is an international SCANDAL. I am immediately filing a motion to release MP Romanowski and will file an appropriate complaint to the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and a notification to the Prosecutor's Office on behalf of my Client" – he emphasized.

Lewandowski had earlier announced that he wanted to remove five prosecutors who are members of Investigative Team No. 2 in the National Prosecutor's Office from proceedings involving the politician.

"All circumstances indicate reasonable grounds that the investigation conducted by prosecutors, which after all covers acts allegedly committed by the previous Minister of Justice and the previous management, will not be conducted impartially."

Investigators from Ombudsman's office visited Father Olszewski in custody. Some of them "burst into tears"

 After the publication of the priest's letter, the Commissioner for Human Rights could not remain indifferent to his terrible treatment. On July 8, it was reported that the deputy Commissioner for Human Rights, Wojciech Brzozowski, asked the head of the Internal Security Agency and the commander of the capital city police to explain whether there was no improper treatment of Father Michał Olszewski during his arrest.

Priest's attorney-at-law, Krzysztof Wąsowski, informed the Ombudsman’s officials have already taken the first steps.

"We also heard from Father Michał that when the ladies saw how he was treated when they saw the documents he refused to sign when they heard his story, what his cell looked like, they simply cried."

Both ladies are officials with extensive experience. They told Father Michał that he was not treated according to the applicable standards.

Politycy którzy nazywali Trumpa Hitlerem i zagrożeniem egzystencjalnym zdziwieni próbą zamachu

 Dziwić się można politykom (i amerykańskim mediom) którzy wyrażają ogromne zdziwienie, że doszło do zamachu na polityka którego na przemian nazywali Hitlerem i zagrożeniem egzystencjalnym (existential threat) dla USA i świata.

Jeśli ktoś ma wątpliwości to proszę rzucić okiem na dzisiejszy zrzut ekranu z Google i zwrócić uwagę na daty. 

Pierwszy portal który zwrócił uwagę na zachowanie polityków partii Demokratycznej to nie CNN (haha) lub FoxNews, to satyryczny portal BabylonBee. Tytuł ich postu mówi wszystko: "Partia, która przez 8 lat nazywała Trumpa „Hitlerem”, jest zszokowana, gdy ktoś próbuje go zamordować." Post miał tylko tytuł.  

Dzisiaj Fox News wykazał się "refleksem" i opublikował wypowiedz byłego prokuratora Williama Barra i innych Republikanów:

Były prokurator generalny William Barr powiedział Fox News, że „Demokraci muszą zaprzestać swoich rażąco nieodpowiedzialnych rozmów o Trumpie jako egzystencjalnym zagrożeniu dla demokracji. Tak nie jest”.

Oświadczenie wydano zaledwie kilka godzin po tym, jak niedoszły zabójca postrzelił byłego prezydenta Donalda Trumpa podczas wiecu wyborczego w Butler w Pensylwanii.

Republikanie nie tracili czasu, powiązując atak z retoryką Demokratów oskarżających Trumpa o autorytaryzm, dyktatorstwo i antydemokrację.

Senator J.D. Vance ze stanu Ohio, kandydat na wiceprezydenta Trumpa, po ataku napisał na X: „Dzisiejszy dzień nie jest jakimś odosobnionym incydentem. Głównym założeniem kampanii Bidena jest to, że prezydent Donald Trump jest autorytarnym faszystą, który należy zatrzymać za wszelką cenę. To retoryka, która bezpośrednio doprowadziła do próby zamachu na prezydenta Trumpa”. 

 

Demokraci organizują spotkanie na Kapitolu w sprawie kandydatury Bidena

We wtorek Demokraci z Izby Reprezentantów i Senatu mają zebrać się na Kapitolu, gdzie mają omówić kandydaturę prezydenta Bidena i jego przydatność do sprawowania urzędu. Wczoraj Biden stanowczo potwierdził swoje zaangażowanie w kampanię w piśmie do Demokratów w Izbie Reprezentantów.

Katastrofalny wynik Bidena w debacie dwa tygodnie temu wzbudził obawy wśród innych Demokratów, że w listopadzie może nie być w stanie pokonać byłego prezydenta Donalda Trumpa. Kongresmeni Mike Quigley ze stanu Illinois, Seth Moulton ze stanu Massachusetts, Lloyd Doggett ze stanu Teksas, Angie Craig ze stanu Minnesota i Raul Grijalva ze stanu Arizona wystąpili publicznie, wzywając Bidena do odsuniecia się na bok.

Biden and his campaign have both maintained that he is staying in the race and is the best suited candidate to keep Trump from a second term.

Another arrested civil servant claims psychological and physical abuse

Poland: The father of a third arrested civil servant, Andrzej Skrzetuski, has sent a letter in which he demands the release of his daughter from custody. - The daughter informs that the actions of the Bodnar prosecutor's office bear the characteristics of psychological as well as physical abuse, similar to what happened in the case of Father Olszewski - he emphasized.

The woman was not allowed to contact her closest family (husband and child) for a period of a month, and her requests for clean clothes and underwear were ignored. She was humiliated by being ordered to undress, relieve herself and wash herself in the presence of guards.

"The icon of Our Lady of Prison, drawn for Mother's Day by my daughter Urszula, arrested, like Father Olszewski and her friend Karolina, for alleged irregularities in granting subsidies to the "Profeto" foundation for the construction of a center for victims of crime. Meanwhile, everything was done in accordance with the law, and the center is almost ready, " ...

" unfortunately, Bodnar's Ministry of Injustice has halted construction and is still trying to find justification for the actions taken that are against the law, and especially for the arrest."

Mr. Skrzetuski emphasized that "the lawyers of the arrested claim that they have never encountered such absurd allegations in their legal practice." 

The big irony is that the head prosecutor Adam Bodnar who ordered those arrests, and is most likely behind the ill treatment or those arrested, used to be a Commissioner for Human Rights and, according to Wikipedia, human rights activist.

Poland: Another suspect harassed in prison by the jailers

 A television reporter and journalist, Michał Rachoń, during his show presented a letter from the lawyer of one of the officials detained and arrested in the Justice Fund case. The document shows what kind of torture she was subjected to after her detention.  

The list of tortures and oppressive acts is long. They include sleep deprivation, torment with light and noise, obstruction of access to religious practices, solitary confinement in poor conditions.

The letter is a motion addressed by the woman's defense attorney to the director of the Warsaw-Grochów Detention Center. Adam Gomoła asks about the factual basis and the name of the decision maker for issuing the order to provide the detainee with "special protection."

"I also ask for information whether the above decision was issued ex officio by the Director of the Detention Centre or at the request of another body, in particular the National Prosecutor's Office," the document reads.

Adam Gomoła, whose statement was presented in the TV Republika news service, indicated what the inclusion of the woman under the "special protection" implies.

- This order, which is supposedly aimed at introducing some kind of increased protection for my client, was introduced almost immediately after the application of temporary arrest and it is still ongoing. What's more, a few days ago, the director of the detention center definitely abused this order, which, under the pretext of providing my client with better protection from whomever, allows for increased censorship of correspondence, increased and more frequent checks of her cell, also at night, with turning on the light, with waking her up, and also allows for checking the notes and correspondence with defense attorneys - said Gomoła.

- Such actions certainly deserve to be called harassment, which should not be allowed against any person temporarily detained, - he added.

Poland will not receive war reparations from Germany. Period. The subject is closed

The first Polish-German intergovernmental consultations since 2018 were held in Warsaw on Tuesday, with the participation of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

During a joint press conference, both politicians spoke, among other things, about increasing security in the context of the threat from Russia. However, it was the issue of war reparations from Germany that stirred the greatest emotions. Donald Tusk stated that Poland had legally waived reparations.

– Chancellor Olaf Scholz speaks openly and this is the advantage of this meeting, that in the formal and legal sense reparations are closed from the German point of view. And he has arguments for this thesis – said Tusk during a press conference.

Tusk's statement on reparations caused a storm on the web. Many commentators could not believe what the head of the Polish government said.

"Can anyone still have any doubts as to why the German governor Tusk became prime minister in Poland? It is simply a crime against the Polish raison d'état," - wrote journalist Cezary Krysztopa.

W artykule redakcyjnym dodano, że wszyscy postrzegają obecnie drugą kadencję prezydenta Bidena jako „śmieszny pomysł”, pisząc, że Biden powinien „być prezydentem na jedną kadencję, który teraz ujrzał światło dzienne, jeśli chodzi o jego własne możliwości w obliczu kryzysu i szczególne wymagania związane z byciem Prezydentem Stanów Zjednoczonych.”

Poland's Reset 2.0: The first persecution of Catholic priest since communism era

Yesterday, Polish opposition media published a letter from a Catholic priest, Fr. Michał Olszewski, jailed since end of March. Since then, his representatives have repeatedly raised alarms about illegal practices of both the police and the justice system. His lawyer, filed a complaint against the court's decision to extend the priest's detention. 

In the letter, Father Olszewski described the hours following his arrest and the days that followed. The priest describes how they tried to force him to testify without a lawyer present. The priest refused many times, after which they pointed out to him that by doing so he was worsening his situation and delaying his return home.

"I ate my first meal after 60 hours, when my attorney brought me a package from my brother. I had my first contact with the attorney after 20 hours," he wrote.

He was chained from all day long (even during physiological activities). "They didn't take off my handcuffs even for a moment. When we arrived at the cell, I heard that at that time there was nothing left, neither supper nor water. I begged for tap water, brought in a bottle, which was empty in the cell. In the morning, when I asked to be taken to the toilet, I heard that 'you have a water bottle, pour it into it'. I was only able to use the toilet around 8 a.m. before going to the prosecutor's office," he wrote.

He was woken up by lights every hour throughout the night. (This is a well know tactic used against political prisoners during communism era.)

This morning, Sovereign Poland politicians announced their intention to intervene in the case. Sebastian Kaleta, an MP, described the letter from Fr. Olszewski as "shocking material" that cannot be ignored.

"These are the facts resulting from this publication: Polish state services use torture against detainees. It was used against priest Michał Olszewski in a case that the new government is trying hard to create a big scandal out of. And in order to prove this scandal in any way, they simply torture the detained priest."

"That is why I am informing you that today we are submitting (...) a report to the UN Committee against Torture" – said Kaleta.
