The head of the European Commission "threatens" the Italians two days before elections

Early parliamentary elections are scheduled for Sunday in Italy. This is the result of the collapse of the coalition government of Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

According to polls, the right-wing coalition has a chance for victory and independent rule. Meanwhile, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has already made it quite clear that if the "EU-skeptical" forces win, the European Commission may decide to block funds for Rome.

- We will see what the result of the elections in Italy will be. If things go in a difficult direction, we have the tools, as in the case of Hungary and Poland, - said a German politician who visited America's Princeton University on Thursday.

Recently the European Commission issued a recommendation to deprive Hungary of 65 percent in payments from the cohesion fund, which amounts to EUR 7.5 billion.

The leader of the Northern League, Matteo Salvini, does not hide his indignation at the words of the head of the European Commission about the elections in Italy. It announces an application for its appeal.
