Former PM Mateusz Morawiecki was charged with organizing mail-in elections

Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, leaving the building of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, announced that he had heard allegations regarding the organization of the 2020 correspondence elections, but refused to provide explanations because he would first like to familiarize himself with the case files.

– The Constitution and its articles imposed on the government responsibility for maintaining public order and internal security, and what was happening in our country at that time threatened to destabilize the entire system. Today, I am being prosecuted for my will to organize the presidential elections. If I had to decide again whether to commission preparatory work for the election, I would make the same decision again - assured the former prime minister before entering the prosecutor's office building.

He argued that if the PiS government did not undertake to prepare the elections, it would be accused of an attack on democracy.
