"The Pope has appointed his special envoy for the celebrations of the 1000th anniversary of the coronation of Bolesław the Brave. He is Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Archbishop Emeritus of the Warsaw Archdiocese," the Vatican News website reported.
Poland, over the course of 1,000 years, has created the largest union of states on the old continent, defending civil rights and freedoms. Political and religious freedoms ... — wrote MEP Patryk Jaki.
The Polish government, however, does not intend to organize state celebrations related to the country's breakthrough event, the coronation of Poland's first king. Instead, the Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the April 12 march a "Law & Justice" march and called for the "patriotic" march in May, right before the presidential elections. The opposition called this event a march of "German patriots."
PN: It is incredible that the PM, who attacked opposition parties calling them unpatriotic and even treasonous for voting against the EU Security resolution, does not want to celebrate 1000 years since the coronation of the first Polish king. Apparently, he doesn't realize that the next millennium is in 1000 years, and by that time, nobody will even remember his name. Maybe his actions.
