Is EU helping with election fraud?

If what Le Monde writes is true the only conclusion is that the EU and European Commission take part on the biggest lie Donald Tusk and his government has so far committed. It should easily qualify as an election fraud.

As the French daily writes, there is an informal agreement between von der Leyen and Tusk, under which the EC president supports the government in Poland by turning a blind eye to the prime minister's statements or even postponing the deadlines for the publication of reports that would upset Polish voters.

One of the topics that has been subject to a kind of censorship is the issue of migrants and the migration pact. The head of the EC does not seem to hear the assurances coming from Poland that Warsaw will not respect the provisions of this EU document.

"During a joint press conference in Gdańsk, she did not react when Donald Tusk declared that he would not implement the EU migration and asylum pact, although this legislation is to enter into force in 2026 and is binding. She preferred not to make a scandal out of it, knowing that after the elections, Tusk would comply with the regulations," we read in the newspaper.

Another issue is the Green Deal. According to "Le Monde" on this matter, "Tusk is now allowed to make statements that would not be accepted from other leaders". Ursula von der Leyen even postponed the publication of the report on the CO2 emission reduction target until afer the elections, although it was supposed to be published in the first quarter of this year and is unfavourable for Poland.

As the journalists add, "in order not to harm Warsaw, the Commission also deliberately delayed decisions on regulating trade with Ukraine after 5 June - a politically risky topic in Poland, where farmers fear competition". The situation is similar with the agreement with Mercosur. As the authors of the article point out, Brussels is in no hurry to ratify it, so as not to anger Polish farmers and not to harm Tusk.
