A Russian Il-20M reconnaissance aircraft reappeared in international airspace near Poland. It was intercepted again by a pair of Polish MiG-29s on duty.
The incident occurred yesterday, October 30th. A pair of MiG-29s from the 22nd Tactical Air Base in Malbork scrambled for an interception before 9:00 a.m. Polish fighters carried out the interception over the Baltic Sea. The Russian aircraft was flying without a filed flight plan and with its transponder turned off. The Polish fighters identified it (it was the same aircraft that Polish MiG-29s had recently intercepted, reg) and then accompanied the I-1 until it left the Polish zone of responsibility.
