Speaking on Radio Wnet, Wojciech Kolarski, a presidential minister, recounted exactly what happened in Auschwitz.
According to him President Karol Nawrocki was not officially welcomed at the ceremonies in Auschwitz.
Karol Nawrocki was also reportedly not mentioned as an official guest at the celebrations.
During the ceremonies commemorating the 81st anniversary of the liberation of prisoners from the German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, the President Nawrocki delivered a speech.
He explicitly reminded the audience that Germany has still not paid reparations to Poland for the atrocities of World War II.
"The German state has still not paid reparations to Poland for the evils of World War II. This is not how you build a world of peace – for every crime and every war, one must simply pay and apologize. Only then will we be able to feel that we have fulfilled our contemporary duty," he said.
To prevent such speech the organizers refused to allow the Polish head of state to speak during the ceremony, but he did so anyway.
