Polish Oil and Gas Mining Company (PGNiG) has successfully completed drilling work in the Wiązownica commune in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.

During production tests, gas was obtained from it in quantities that justify industrial operation. Experts from PGNiG estimate that the drilling capacity will amount to approx. 5 million m3 of high-methane natural gas per year, the release said.

"The success of the Zapałów-3K well means that PGNiG has discovered a new natural gas field in Podkarpacie. This confirms that this region still has great potential for the development of domestic gas extraction. Thanks to our experience and skills, we are able to build the country's energy security based on the exploitation of our own resources" - said CEO Jerzy Kwieciński, quoted in the release.
