Polish firefighters go to Greece to fight fires

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Twitter on Saturday that, at the request of the Prime Minister of Greece, he will send a group of firefighters to this country to fight fires.

The Prime Minister wrote that he had decided that on Saturday a group of officers with nearly 50 fire fighting vehicles would be sent to help Greece. At the same time, the head of government thanked the Ministry of Interior and Administration for quick action.

The spokesman for the General Headquarters of the State Fire Service informed that 143 firefighters and 46 vehicles will go to Greece.

Fires rage on Euboea island, and in many places in the southern Peloponnese region. The fire reached a distance of 20 km (12.5 miles) from Athens.
