The EU spends more on gas and oil from Russia than on supporting Ukraine

Today, in a joint statement, the heads of the most important EU institutions - the European Parliament, the European Commission and the European Council - boasted that the EU "has provided Ukraine with economic, humanitarian, financial and military assistance worth a total of EUR 135 billion, of which EUR 48.7 billion is military assistance."

But, according to The Guardian in 2024, Europe bought gas and oil from Russia for the equivalent of EUR 22 billion. At the same time, the EU's financial assistance to Ukraine last year amounted to EUR 19 billion.

According to economist Christoph Trebesch, Germany organized greater and faster aid for Kuwait in 1990/1991 than for Ukraine.

PN: By buying the oil and gas from Russia, the EU is, in fact, supporting Russia in its war against Ukraine. There's nothing new here.
